Elizabeth Kate Winslet (October 5, 1975) is an English actor and occasional singer. She is highly respected for his performances in several films and has received several award nominations. She is the youngest person to accrue six Oscar nominations, and won an Oscar for Best Actress for the reader (2008). Winslet was praised for both dramatic and comic works projects, ranging from period to modern films, and major Hollywood productions to smaller indie films published. She has won awards from the Screen Actors Guild, British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, among others, and was nominated for an Emmy Award for television acting.
Raised in Berkshire, Winslet studied acting from childhood, and began his career in British television in 1991. She made her film debut in Heavenly Creatures (1994), where her first big praise. She was recognized for his later work in a supportive role in Sense and Sensibility (1995) and for his lead role in Titanic (1997), the highest grossing film in more than 12 years until 2010.
Since 2000, Winslet performances remained attract positive reactions from film critics, and she was nominated for several awards for his work in films such as feathers bags (2000), Iris (2001), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Finding Neverland (2004) Little Children (2006), The Reader (2008) and Revolutionary Road (2008). Her performance in the latter beat the New York magazine describing her as "the best English-speaking actor of his generation". Winslet received a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for Children in 2000. Winslet has a daughter with her former husband Jim Threapleton and is married to Sam Mendes, with whom she lives in New York City.
